Just a reminder!

The documentary, 'THE SILENT CITY' is about The Great Zimbabwe Monument which is found in Masvingo province in the present day Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe Ruins as it is sometimes called is the second largest monument in Africa after the Pyramids of Egypt and is proberbly the biggest structure in the world built without mortar.

Great Zimbabwe is believed to be the capital city of once a royal empire in Southern Africa. The documentary covers the dwelling place of the ancient Kings who successfully ruled the Munhumutapa Empire. The residence is believed to have been the top of the hill at Great Zimbabwe refereed to as The Hill Complex or the Acropolis.

It also presents some insight on the formation, reign and decline of this once great city. It is also interesting to note that Masvingo City is named after this site.

'RUDE AWAKENING' featuring Synos Lucas as BENSON. The storyline revolves around Benson having a dream. It is relative to the lives of most people in financial difficulties, dreaming of solutions in a bid to get a better life.

For those of you who love mbira music, the old folk are back again with a better version of their 'Chapungu' music and rebranded to 'Mumbire'. Sosamoyo Mbira Group recorded their song for the documentary 'The Silent City'. The first version was postrd on my Facebook. The New version is right below.

Another reminder!
Also a reminder about the musical i recorded in Masvingo, 'Chapungu' by 'SOSAMOYO MBIRA GROUP'. The group is led by  Collins Muzanenhamo who some of you might remember seeing him playing mbira music for Munhuri Yekwa Kenengoni and Thomas Mapfumo. He is now playing Mbira with a group called SOSAMOYO Mbira Group based in Masvingo. I managed to record on video the song Chapungu a bird that is widely associated with Great Zimbabwe which was a fitting compliment for the documentary, The Silent City. The new version now includes the artist James Mupakwa.
